DORCHESTER Town manager Callum Brooks has stated his desire to see a “professional” attitude from his players during their Evo-Stik Southern Premier South contest at Hartley Wintney tomorrow (3pm).

Brooks’ men beat the drop in style on Monday, thrashing 10-man Tiverton 6-0 to escape what has become a six-team battle to stave off relegation on the final day.

Walton Casuals, Hendon, Gosport Borough, Basingstoke Town, Tiverton and Wimborne Town can all mathematically sink a division after the final round of fixtures tomorrow.

With Dorchester clear of the relegation quicksand, Brooks is set to resist making fundamental changes to the Magpies’ team against the Row.

He told Echosport: “First of all we’ll try and be as professional as we can with regards to the game.

“As with any game we’ve prepared properly and we want to win. I’ve not got a huge squad so it’s not like there’s going to be wholesale changes.

“The only changes we make will be in relation to helping us win the game.”

Having already experienced a high against Tiverton, Brooks is keen to finish off the season in style.

“The lads worked really hard since I’ve come in. We went three or four games where we couldn’t get that win which we felt would confirm safety,” he said.

“It’s nice now because they’ve got their reward, they’ve finished the season in fantastic form with a fantastic performance.

“It’s nice we go into it with no pressure (tomorrow) so we can set up and enjoy it. I look at what could have happened, the teams that are not safe.

“All these different permutations. I think ‘how nice is it that we’re not involved in that?’

“If we did want to look at something for next season at least we’ve got the option to do that.”

Dorchester will name the same squad for the Row as the one that was selected for the Tiverton win.

Brooks said: “Ben (Morris) will continue with us and it will be nip and tuck whether Billy (Lowes) is ready to start after his injury.

“Billy got a dead leg against Kings Langley and it came up very bruised. He could hardly move on Monday. It’s just a case of if it’s cleared up how cleared up is it?

“And whether it’s worth risking anything with the status of the game. Knowing Billy he’ll be desperate to play. He’ll get assessed by the physio (Emma Tonkin).

“The overall message is that we’ve worked so hard to get this far, why wouldn’t we want to finish strongly?

“We don’t want it to be a dead rubber, we want to go out with a strong performance and wrap our season up properly.”
