A GOAL to savour from Jimmy Hallett and a late second half hat-trick from Pete Bochonko ensured an emphatic 4-0 triumph over arch-rivals the Belvedere at Redlands for the Black Dog.

This result sees them shoot up to the top of the Domino's Premiership.

Hallett's 43rd minute strike was all that separated the keen rivals at the break and the goal came largely against the run of play as the Belve - led by the surprise inclusion of player-manager Bobby Darch who had been nursing a broken toe all week - were proving ever-competitive opponents.

Making a trademark charge across the back-line, Hallett skipped past a number of challenges but appeared to be going nowhere as he reached the edge of the box.

However, a fantastic drag back allowed the livewire winger to poke home a fabulous left-footer inside stunned Nick Gregg's right-hand upright and the Dog had their noses in front.

Apart from the goal the Dog had shown little composure in the final third as a number of poor deliveries ensued from both crosses and free- kicks.

The best chance of the half had fallen to former Dog striker Paul Hayers on the half hour but the Dog's luck held as his attempted lob over Mark Cottingham bounced inches wide of a post shortly after Bochonko had brought a top-drawer block out of Gregg with a drive from the edge of the box.

The Dog upped the tempo from the off in the second period and Nick Etherington, standing in up front for the suspended Derek Puckett, nearly scored six minutes in but his terrific run as he skipped past defenders down the left ended with a shot across goal that flew two feet wide of the far post.

Within two minutes Gregg was out smartly to block again - this time from Etherington - following the first of a number of swift second- half Dog counter attacks.

The Belve were creating chances too, though, and Alex Halloran hit a belter from 20-yards that looked to be finding the top corner in the 67th minute but for the timely intervention of Cottingham who flung himself full length to push the ball around a post.

Seconds later another long twisting run by Etherington deserved a goal but the striker, now oozing confidence, only found the side-netting.

However, the shape of the game was to change dramatically moments later as Lee Thompson received his marching orders for a second bookable offence allowing the Dog to profit late on as Bochonko finally found his scoring boots.

Chances came thick and fast for the table-toppers and Gregg came to the Belve's rescue with a great point-blank save to deny Bochonko seconds before Phil Lee skewed a shot well wide.

In the 80th minute the 10-man champions were exposed as Hallett threaded a ball through for Bochonko who coolly lifted his finish over the diving Gregg for 2-0.

Four minutes later the Dog added a third as they broke at lightning pace straight from a Hayers' corner and the race ended with Bochonko virtually walking the ball home.

More chances came and after skipper Andy Laidlow had punted hopelessly over, Bochonko rounded off his hat-trick in the 90th minute when, picked out by his captain, he had time to round Gregg again.

Tuatara Bar got back to winning ways with a fine 4-1 Premiership victory over the George Inn.

Tuatara started brightly and Nick Preece gave them an early lead, slotting low after weaving past two defenders.

Preece then turned provider, squaring the ball for strike partner Chris O'Donovan to finish into an open net.

The travelling Dorchester side clawed one back, but John Lamb ensured Tuatara took a two-goal advantage into the break, finishing well to round off a fine team move.

The second half was much tighter, but Lamb won a penalty an hour in to the game and O'Donovan coolly found the bottom corner.

The victory was marred however by what looked like a serious injury to two-goal O'Donovan.

Meanwhile over at the Marsh Domino's Championship high-flyers the Duke of Albany were enjoying a field day at the expense of the Market House - a game that ended in a 9-0 drubbing for the luckless Taverners.

Paddy Kenner began the rout after five minutes when he tapped home Luke Tomlin's centre and then the latter bagged a real gem just two minutes later.

This time Kenner turned provider as he beat his marker down the left before providing a pin-point cross that Tomlin struck beautifully on the volley from 20 yards into the top left-hand corner - a strike reminiscent of Van Basten's finest moment.

Later in the half Steve Perry blazed over from the penalty spot but Jason Pearce and a Steve Steele header ensured a handsome 4-0 lead at the switch.

There was no way back for the House once Kenner slotted in the fifth straight after the restart after which Tomlin made it 6-0 before Kenner completed his hat-trick from the spot.

Late on Steele bagged his second and Don Wellman completed the scoring, heading home a Sean Harris corner in the last minute.

However, it is the George that occupy top spot ahead of the Albany courtesy of their sixth successive league win - this time a narrow 3-2 success over the Albert.

Mark Stamp, Brynn Lewis and Rob Maxted hit the goals for the Portlanders but the latter picked up a hamstring injury and is unlikely to figure in next week's showdown with the Albany at Redlands.
