DORCHESTER Tennis and Squash Club (DTSC) is holding its Open Day on Saturday (12-3pm) in association with the LTA’s Nature Valley Big Tennis weekends.

DTSC is a friendly and sociable members-run club, where all ages and abilities are catered for, and has been in existence since 1949.

DTSC welcomes those looking for team or social play, or wanting to brush up your skills with some coaching, those of all abilities and ages to try not just tennis but all their facilities, including new artificial clay tennis courts plus three squash and racketball courts.

Coaches will be ready to give guidance and tips and attendees can get free coaching, play fun games or just have a free taster session on court.

Table tennis tables will also be set up for you to try out your skills.

There will be refreshments on hand during the day with coffee, tea and homemade cakes and a BBQ. The club bar will also be open for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

There will be free entrance to all courts and activities including ‘guess the number of balls’ competition’, a Wessex FM competition and two chances to win free membership for the remainder of the club year until the end of March.

During the event, visitors will get a chance to chat to members about what the club offers – like the internal leagues, playing for teams, the annual and other regular tournaments plus the many social events like quiz evenings, wine tastings and an annual dinner dance.

These run on Wednesdays evenings and Thursday afternoons for tennis (free) and Wednesday mornings for racketball and Friday evening for squash and racketball (small charge for lights).
