ANTONIO Diaz has agreed terms to stay with Dorchester Town for the forthcoming Evo-Stik Southern Premier South season.

The attacking midfielder, who signed for the club on a permanent basis in October last year, scored 11 goals in 38 appearances during the previous campaign in which he also netted his first hat-trick for the Magpies.

After agreeing terms for another season at the club, Diaz said: “The squad’s looking really good – it’s really exciting and I think if we build on what we had last season we’ll do really well next season.

“I think even in the 10 games you saw all of the positive signs coming out, and the players that Cal can attract and bring in to the club at the moment have been amazing – so I think with a good pre-season and start to the season it will put us in a good place next year.”

“Me and Kyle (Egan) have got a good relationship and that was a big reason we wanted to stay and play together, so hopefully we can kick on next season and do even better.”

Manager Callum Brooks said: “Diaz was another one who was a really positive part of the last 10 games in what he delivered for the team, in his relationship with myself, his willingness to learn and how he is around the group.

“All of that was very positive.”

“He’s built a fantastic relationship on the right-hand side with Kyle, so Diaz was one of the people I was speaking to immediately as the season was drawing to the end.”

“There has been interest from good other local clubs which tells you how much potential the lad has got – but he’s totally brought into our project, so he’s neglected that interest to get his head down and be a massive part of what we’re doing, and I think that’s a good move all round.”
