ANDREW McDermott is the new leader of the ADC Premier Division after another undefeated night, where the leaders of both leagues changed.

McDermott was a wire’s width away from having his opening 3-1 victory over Arnie Quinn turn into a draw as Quinn wired double 11 for a 124 out-shot to secure a point, letting McDermott sink a double eight for the victory.

Stewart Masters went one better than Quinn against McDermott as he did manage to take a point in their contest, leading 2-1 Masters also missed match doubles to let McDermott snatch a draw.

What on paper was the match of the night, as last season’s top two went head to head in their final games of the evening, McDermott went on to beat current champion Danny Aplin 3-1.

Aplin on 62 after 12 darts and 300 points ahead suddenly hit a wall on doubles, letting McDermott take the leg and eventually seal the win with a 110 out shot.

Aplin started the night with a 3-1 win over Chris Burton, who agonisingly missed tops for a 135 out shot letting Aplin take 87 out in two when returning to the oche.

Aplin was lucky to pinch a draw in his second match against Quinn, but Aplin now sits second in the table.

Draw specialist Quinn ended with two 180s on the night, and finished with his fifth draw out of six contests as he drew with Chris Burton 2-2.

The father-and-son contest, Andy Masters against son Stewart, did not disappoint, with Stewart leading 1-0, Andy left double 20 after 12 darts, with Stewart then taking out 81 on the bull.

A 112 out shot from Andy got him back in the contest, but it was Stewart who hit a 101 out shot to win the match 3-1.

Defeat for Andy leaves him third bottom in the table, after surprisingly only one win from his opening six matches.

There was another 3-1 loss this time to Simon Churchill, who also hit a 118 out shot before a 4-0 defeat to Drew Tweedy, who was another to hit two maximums on the night.

A 3-1 victory for Tweedy was his second of the night, as he piled more misery on bottom of the table Trevor Honnor in their match.

Honnor, who has not got going at all in the new season, suffered a second 3-1 defeat this time to Churchill, before ending the night with a positive point and a 180 against big scoring Mel Burton 2-2.

Burton went unbeaten on the night, as he opened up with a 2-2 with Mark Samways before picking up his second win of the season in a 3-1 success over Tweedy.

Samways was deadly on his doubles in his 3-1 win over Chris Burton, and a last dart double 12 saved a point for Samways in his draw with Stewart Masters.

Nigel Davis now tops the Championship Division, after a 3-1 win over current leader Shaun Lampard which saw the former over take the latter by one point.

A 180 from Davis in the second leg put him in charge, before Lampard pulled one back which eventually would turn into a consolation leg as Davis took the fourth and the win.

Davis had the perfect start to the night as he did not drop a leg in his opening contests beating Scott Gannon and then Lloyd Honnor 4-0.

Shaun Lampard looked on course for another great night at the oche, as he opened his evening with a 4-0 win over Paul Paice who scored superbly well but struggled on the doubles letting Lampard claim the win.

Up-and-coming star Eddie Knell gained a point against the leader as they drew their match 2-2. Spurred on by the majority of the league, Knell held his nerve to take the draw which came after a fantastic 4-0 win over Matty Betts. in their opening match.

Short’s undefeated night sees him sit one point above fourth spot Simon Sharpe, who secured himself two 4-0 victories over Honnor and Gannon.

It was a disappointing night for Honnor who had handful of chances to pinch a couple legs but came up short on the last couple darts meaning it was a third 4-0 loss of the night, as Paul Paice re-found his scoring form and took their match 4-0.

A good come back from Paice who was defeated in his first match saw him bounce back with a 3-1 over Scott Gannon.
