DORSET maintained their perfect start to the Unicorns Twenty20 competition with two precious wins against rivals Devon at North Perrott.

Luke Webb’s men had twice beaten Wales and added successive seven-wicket and three-wicket victories to their tally against their near neighbours.

In the opening encounter, a fine unbeaten 68 from 61 balls by James Burke had helped Devon post 137-3, Felix Organ claiming 1-19.

Australian-born Organ then cut loose with the bat, pummelling 65 not out from 44 balls.

The Hampshire man was well supported by Michael Porter (38) and Ed Ellis (28no) as Dorset lost just three wickets in reaching their target with 10 balls remaining.

Devon again batted first in the second fixture, with Matthew Golding’s unbeaten 40 backing up a rapid 31 from 18 balls by Matthew Golding as the hosts set Dorset 139 for victory despite Jigar Naik’s outstanding 3-13.

Dorset captain Luke Webb then set about building his side’s innings despite wickets falling in clusters around him.

Dan Goodey (2-25) removed Sam Young (21) and Porter (11) before Ed Middleton (3-25) claimed three quickfire wickets, including Organ (13).

However, Webb (65no) delivered a captain’s innings comprising of seven boundaries and a six to steer Dorset to an impressive double victory.
