DORSET TIGERS 288 (20pts) beat DORCHESTER II 160 (9pts) by 128 runs

ANOTHER fantastic knock of 84 from Dorchester Seconds’ talisman Rhys Cole was not enough as Dorset Tigers collected a 128-run County Division Three win at Branksome Rec.

Captain for the afternoon Josh Foot activated the new rule to choose to field first on a sunny afternoon and after having a good start with Nathan Quinn (1-43) bowling well the Tigers soon made hay and in particular Shafiq Uria (97) was brutal to the visiting bowlers and helped to take his side to a daunting 288 at the interval.

Josh Foot was the most successful bowler with 4-52 from his seven overs.

Cole took the attack to the home side on a deteriorating track but lacked partners as wickets fell regularly. Despite Cole’s excellent 84, Dorchester fell short on this occasion but picked up a very useful nine points.

Dorchester Seconds host Sturminster and Hinton at Dorchester Rec tomorrow (1.30pm).
