PAUL Simpson and Ann Varlow from Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association and Castle Cove Sailing Club are in the midst of an adventure over to France and Holland in boat Jacana.
In April they started a six-month trip from Portland Marina to the Mediterranean.
The first stop was an enjoyable weekend with a rally from Castle Cove Sailing Club in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Onward to Gosport, Brighton and Dover.
They then travelled across the channel to Dunkirk, up the Dutch canals to Amsterdam and back down the North Sea and English Channel to Belgium then the beautiful medieval town of Honfleur.
They are currently in Rouen where they will have their mast taken down and then continue their journey on the canals of France, with their final destination being Port Napoleon in the south of France.
