THE weather has been unsettled but it has not prevented Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association members getting out and about in their boats, with boats heading to places such as Yarmouth and the Channel Islands.
The second of this summer’s day cruises brought out three boats, Happy Wanderer, Penny Royal and Catherine of Wight, a morning’s sail took them into Lulworth Cove for lunch before returning to Weymouth in the afternoon.
This week boats are venturing further afield with Alun and Liz Harfoot taking their boat Madeleine to Yarmouth and Patrick and Jacquie Crawley, sailing Minnehaha plus Chris and Tess Reid in Monterey heading for the Channel Islands.
John and Jane Atkinson however decided to delay their planned trip to the Isles of Scilly and wait for warmer weather, but the club evenings at Castle Cove Sailing Club continue to be popular with those not on cruises.
