MARTINSTOWN captain Sam Kershaw says they are just ‘one win away from relighting the fire’ as they prepare to host Sherborne on Saturday in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier Division.

Martinstown are looking for their first home win of the season, but Kershaw says no one is downhearted about their position which sees them sit second from bottom.

Discussing morale, Kershaw said: “Everyone knows that we are just one good performance away from turning it around, so no one is downhearted, it is just a case of more frustration, where we have lost games that we should be winning.

“I think we are just one win away from relighting the fire hopefully, but no one is downhearted about it, everyone knows what they have got to do it is up to us now.”

Kershaw praised Sherborne’s batting order, highlighting Emlyn Kuhn as one to be wary of, as he said: “Sherborne are a good team though, you can’t really take them too lightly, they have got some really strong batsmen up top and take wickets early against them hopefully we will be fine.

“They have got some really strong batsmen in the top order, Emlyn Kuhn is one of them that we will be trying to get early.”

George Pope, Tom Pope, Teddy Andrews and Chris Read come in for Mike Kennedy-Barnard, Jack Kane, Ryan Chase (unavailable) and Fraser Hill for Martinstown.
