SWIMMERS from Weymouth Swimming Club amazed their coaches by earning an incredible 105 PBs at the club’s annual sprints gala.

Top winners from the gala were a group of nine swimmers.

Sadie Robinson, Geoffrey Goodrick, Abigail Sedwards, Jamie Gunn, Bethany Webb, Ben Jacobs, Danielle Condell, Tina Sumner and Michael Lister competed superbly well, winning all four events in their respective age groups.

Other age group winners were a clutch of seven swimmers as Freya Barrington, Elena Seawards, George Cartwright, Edward Goodrick, Ben Kinsey, Joe Kinsey and Harry Wills all excelled in their categories.

Also presented at the gala were awards for the fastest 50m freestyle times of the evening.

These were won by Abigail Seawards for fastest junior girl, Gunn for fastest junior boy, Sumner for fastest senior girl and Jacobs for fastest senior boy.

Many of the club’s younger swimmers were excited to be able to compete in this gala for the first time and gain gala experience.

Weymouth Swimming Club’s sprint gala is for members of the club of all ages to compete in 50m events, possibly for the first time or just to try and better their current times.

Any prospective swimmers interested in joining the club can message through the website or alternatively go down to Weymouth swimming pool on a Monday or Friday between 6.30-7.30pm and speak to one of the volunteers on the club desk.
