DORCHESTER Town's penultimate pre-season friendly has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
The Magpies had been due to travel to the Salisbury-based side, who ply their trade in the tenth tier, ahead of their final warm-up match against Winchester City on Saturday (3pm).
However, in a statement on the Harlequins' website the Hampshire team blamed a "heavy deluge" of rain and further predicted downpours this afternoon as reasoning to axe the fixture.
Dorchester have so far accrued 5-0 wins over Totton and Bridgwater, 1-1 and 2-2 draws against Yeovil and Portland United respectively plus a 1-0 loss to Horndean this pre-season.
The Magpies are set to open their BetVictor Southern Premier South campaign at home to Beaconsfield Town on Saturday, August 10 (3pm).
