AFTER the excitement of the RNLI Anniversary Parade when several Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association members joined in it is back to summer cruising.
The Harfoots in Madeleine are spending time exploring the Solent and the Roberts in Stella are still in the Westcountry.
Alan Mayall in Osprey and Phil Stringer in Mistral are back from their cruise after stops in Lymington and East Cowes.
Stringer said they “experienced an amazing thunderstorm whilst alongside in Lymington” and on the Isle of Wight Mayall ticked off another item from his bucket list with a trip on the hovercraft across the Solent to Southsea.
Both boats returned to Weymouth with a long but exhilarating sail in a strong south-westerly wind.
Tuesday club nights at Castle Cove are being well attended this year giving members opportunities to share experiences and ideas for future cruises including the late summer cruise.
The next short trip will be on Wednesday, August 14 to Worbarrow Bay, east of Lulworth, for a barbeque.
