DORCHESTER captain James Dunham remains calm ahead of his side’s potential title-deciding battle with enemies Poole Town in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League tomorrow (1pm).

Dunham skippers the county town side at Poole Park knowing a victory over the second-placed team would all but seal the league trophy with two games to play.

However, a loss against Town would see their opponents eat into a 13-point buffer currently enjoyed by Dunham’s men.

Speaking to Echosport, he said: “It’s good we’re going into the game with the attention in our half. If they win, it could work out we’re about even. If not, Poole might overtake us, so it’s an important game.

“Playing away from home isn’t easy and the weather’s a bit hit and miss this week. We’ll go into it the same as we have done every week.

“It’s three important games to try and win the league, one fixture we’re all looking forward to and why we all play cricket.”

On the calibre of Poole, Dunham added: “Poole are a very good side, they’re up there most years I’ve played in this division.

“You know that every year they’re going to be very strong. The way the year’s come about, it’s only fitting we play them at this time of year and the best team will come out on top.”

Mike Peak is unavailable while Nick Roe and David Proctor drop to the second team. Will and James Caldwell, plus Eral Anderson, come in.
