MARK Samways continued his rich vein of form after picking up three wins from three tricky fixtures in the Weymouth ADC League Premier Division, writes Andrew McDermott.

His heavy scoring, including two 180s on the night, strengthened Samways charge up the table.

Mel Burton, Nigeria Davis and Andy Masters were the disappointed trio beaten by Samways.

Andy Masters’ misery was compounded further with two defeats from two, when it was master versus pupil, father versus son, to which a 180 and an 18-dart leg, along with some heavy scoring, helped Stewart to a 3-1 victory against his father.

Stewart went on to beat Terry Tucker 3-1 in a high-quality affair, but was unable to take three from three as he lost 3-1 to Davis.

Davis’ night started off well with his 3-1 win but ended with 4-0 defeats to the in-form Samways and current table-topper Andrew McDermott.

McDermott included finishes of 72, 70 and 100 to help extend his lead at the top of the table.

Can anyone stop the charge for his first ADC title?

Mel Burton’s title challenge took a dent, as he could not follow up over his 4-0 win over Terry Tucker as he fell to a 3-1 defeat to Samways.

In the Championship, Bazza Stratford hit some form on Monday night with two big wins from two games, defeating Arnie Quinn and Simon Sharpe 4-0 and 3-1 respectively.

Sharpe’s night did not improve as his other fixture against Chris Burton ended in a 2-2 draw.

A rare sight was Chris Burton going undefeated on the night, following his 2-2 draw with a 3-1 victory over Paul Paice.

Young Eddie Knell had a good night with a 2-2 draw against Matty Betts and a 3-1 victory over Billy Short, which included a 174.

Short’s night did not go to plan as he fell to a second 3-1 defeat to Trevor Honnor.

Honnor made it two wins from two on the evening, with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Scott Gannon. Gannon’s other fixture was a battle of the best friends with a 3-1 defeat to Arnie Quinn.

With some players missing this week, next week brings some catch up matches which could shake things up also, as well as the return of the ADC’s single knockout competition with all the players vying for this title.
