PORTLAND Red Triangle captain Matt Randell insists his side’s strong home form in County Division One gives cause for optimism ahead of Shillingstone’s visit to Reforne today (1.30pm).
Randell’s men have hit scores above 250 on four separate occasions this season at their own patch and the Triangle all-rounder backs his side to either set a big total or chase any target.
He told Echosport: “There’s a few players that we’ll be mindful of but we’ll be quite confident at home.
“We’ll look to target them with the ball and if we get amongst them hopefully we’ll be able to get them out quite cheaply.
“We’ve had some big scores at home this year, so we’ll be pretty confident with the bat – setting or chasing.
“I think we’d prefer to set at home but we go into it with lots of confidence and lots of people in pretty good form at home.”
Portland are unchanged from the side that lost to Marnhull by 54 runs.
Triangle: Randell, Leake, Laws, Price, Theakstone, Whisker, Mihell, M Barrett, S Barrett, Cameron, Marsh
