BRIDPORT manager Rich Robson stressed the need for the Bees to “get a result” at Toolstation Western League Premier Division rivals Cadbury Heath tomorrow (3pm).

Robson’s men sit bottom and have endured a testing opening to the new league season after a summer of rebuilding, losing to Exmouth Town, Plymouth Parkway and Shepton Mallet.

Bridport will be missing several players for the trip to Bristol, however, Robson believes his squad is low on confidence and backed his troops to give a true account of themselves.

He told Echosport: “That’s a game we should be winning and that’s a message I’ve put out strongly and crystal clear to this team.

“They need to go and get a result because this team is better than it’s letting itself show.

“It’s had some poor results and unfortunately the only way to get out of those results is to be confident, work really, really, hard and take every opportunity that presents itself.”

Dec Cornish and Joel Hewitt are unavailable, as is Robinson Okumu. The latter’s suspension after his dismissal against Plymouth Parkway kicks in next weekend.

Lewis Clarke (calf) is rated as “50-50” but Will Gape (hip) has been ruled out for three weeks.

Robson said: “We’ve got a whole host of unavailabilities. We’ll have to go with what we’ve got and fight tooth and nail to scrape something from the game.”
