BLACKFIELD & LANGLEY 2

Bongou 1, Plummer 46

DORCHESTER TOWN 1

Bath 50

TEN-MAN Dorchester Town lost a third consecutive away game as Blackfield & Langley took a 2-1 victory in their BetVictor Southern Premier South clash at the Gang Warily.

Dorchester made two changes to the side that started the 4-1 loss at Salisbury as left-back Neil Martin replaced Tiago Sa, while midfielder Sean Wright came in for Dom Panesar-Dower, earning his first Magpies start.

Sa was absent from the Magpies’ squad entirely, with Jason Brookes the new addition to the matchday 16.

Dorchester were denied the chance to face former Magpie James Granger, with the midfielder left out of the Watersiders’ matchday squad completely.

Granger’s omission seemed not to hinder the hosts as they rocked Dorchester with a goal inside the first minute.

Victims of their own downfall, Dorchester handed possession to the Watersiders in the middle third and, after a rapid break upfield, Devane Bongou was on hand to calmly slot his first goal for Blackfield past visiting gloveman Shane Murphy.

Dorchester’s defending left plenty to be desired early on as Murphy was soon forced into a superb stop to deny a second goal after more incisive play from the hosts.

A yellow card picked up for Tom Blair would later prove to be significant, but Dorchester did steady the ship after their early troubles, going in 1-0 down at the break despite not creating a major chance.

With the words of boss Callum Brooks fresh in their minds after half-time, Dorchester were again stunned in the first minute of the half when Lerone Plummer slotted home after the Magpies’ defence was dispossessed.

Blair had other ideas and his shot proved too powerful for home goalkeeper Lewis Noice to handle, his fumble presenting Tom Bath with an easy chance.

However, on 58 minutes Blair earned a second yellow for an alleged dive as Dorchester went down to 10 men.

Despite a flurry of substitutions, neither side could find another goal as Blackfield held on to claim their third win of the season, while the Magpies slipped to a third straight defeat.
