DORCHESTER Town have signed Cameron Sangster and Tom Purrington on loan from League Two side Plymouth Argyle until January 2020.

The midfield duo, who can both operate in a number of positions, both played at the Clayson Stadium against the Magpies when the club hosted a Plymouth Argyle XI in a friendly last year.

Dorchester boss Callum Brooks said: “Most clubs that are at our level will have loan players in and around the squad - we haven't done that yet as we wanted to have a settled group and implement how we want to play and how we want to work, knowing that we felt we could utilise the loan market at a time that would impact us greater, rather than when everyone turned up for pre-season training on July 2.

“We've held back, but now we feel it is the right time to bring in two talented young lads to just give our competition for places and energy levels a boost, and to cover us for some injuries.

“I'd like to thank Kevin Nancekivell at Plymouth who has made it an easy process for us to get the boys in. We hope they can have an enjoyable experience with us, and we look forward to working with them.”

Subject to agreement from the FA, the duo will be available for the BetVictor Southern League Premier South fixture at home to Hartley Wintney tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nick Hutchings has signed dual-registration forms with Dorchester Sports.

The experienced goalkeeper, who has recently returned to training after missing pre-season due to injury, joins fellow Magpie Oli Lowes in registering with the Dorset Premier League side.

Brooks said: "For Hutch it's just about getting his match fitness back. He's been out a long time, so it's somewhere he can go and have a game."

Hutchings is set to make his debut for Sports tomorrow afternoon in the FA Vase away at Swanage Town & Herston (3pm).

* The Magpies visit to Evesham United in the First Qualifying Round of The Emirates FA Cup has been confirmed for Sunday, September 8 (3pm).

Due to a fixture clash at Evesham’s Jubilee Stadium, with Gloucester City – who currently share Evesham’s ground – taking on Darlington in the Vanarama National League North on Saturday, September 7, the FA Cup tie against the Robins will take place 24 hours later.
