WEYMOUTH Wildcats co-promoter Martin Peters is relishing the prospect of unleashing star duo Jacob Clouting and James Laker on the Isle of Wight Wizards at Wimborne Road tonight.
Clouting and Laker have consistently won big points when representing the Wildcats this season and Peters sung the pair’s praises as Weymouth look to avenge a 21-15 loss in the reverse fixture.
He told Echosport: “We’ve got Jacob riding and he’s been quick round Poole. We’ve just got to make sure we keep him on the bike for three heats and not take any unnecessary risks.
“James is riding as well, so anything can happen. (Wizards) are quite strong as well so it’s going to be hard. But I feel that Jacob is super quick round Poole. If he brings his A-game he’s going to be hard to beat.
“With James last week getting three seconds, he’s going to be chomping at the bit as it’s his last meeting for us this season.”
