BALTI Sports’ manager Marco Nott is seeking a return to winning ways ahead of a Dorset Premier League meeting with Shaftesbury Town Reserves at Weymouth College tomorrow (3pm).

Nott’s men are one of just two unbeaten teams in the league after leaders and reigning champions Hamworthy Rec having collected four wins and three draws to sit fourth.

But a late 2-1 loss to Holt United in the Dorset Premier League Cup last weekend cut short Balti’s excellent early season form.

Nott told Echosport: “When we’re at home we just play better. We’ll certainly go in trying to win.

“It looks like (Shaftesbury) have picked up since last season. They only just lost to Ham Rec, who are a very good side, so it’s going to be a tougher game than previous years, for sure.

“We’ve never actually beaten them away from home, they’re reasonably tight games and we do sometimes struggle to beat them at home. We can’t take it lightly at all.”

Nott is delighted with Balti’s start to the season despite the setback at Holt.

He said: “We’ve had one draw too many but apart from that, with the schedule being as tough as it was, to come out unbeaten is highly satisfying.

“If we can still go unbeaten with another win under our belt it’ll be a very strong start for us. To get through a lot of tough games is pleasing.”

Karl Dean and Liam Taylor are set to miss out but Sanchez Baker, Sammy Nichols and Carl McClements return.
