DORCHESTER Town midfielder Dom Panesar-Dower has joined Winchester City on a permanent basis.

Panesar-Dower's departure comes less than 24 hours after the exit of fellow central midfielder Sam Lanahan.

Panesar-Dower had been a regular for Dorchester in pre-season but struggled to hold down a frequent starting XI place in the league campaign and has opted to join the Citizens.

Having made just three appearances this term, Panesar-Dower had been suffering from a bruised ankle and was left on the bench for Dorchester's 2-0 FA Cup first qualifying round win at Evesham United.

Southern Premier South Division One outfit City also signed former Magpie Ollie Griggs last season.

In a brief statement on the Magpies' website, Dorchester thanked the number 10 for his services.

It read: "Dorchester Town Football Club can confirm that Dom Panesar-Dower has joined Winchester City.

"The attacking midfielder departs the Magpies after a two-year spell having initially signed in June 2017.

"We would like to thank Dom for his services over the past few years and wish him well for the rest of the season at Winchester."

Panesar-Dower played a career total of 64 games for the Magpies, scoring just twice.
