DORCHESTER athlete Paul Blake has been selected for the Great Britain Paralympic squad ahead of the IPC World Championships in Dubai, UAE this November.

Blake, 29, will run in the 400 and 800m events looking to emulate his gold-medal winning performances of the past.

Blake is the reigning Paralympic champion over 400m in the T36 class.

A cerebral palsy sufferer, Blake won 400m gold in the T36 classification in Christchurch in 2011 before claiming 800m gold in Lyon in 2013 and Doha two years later.

Blake also has four world silvers to his name and will be looking to add to his collection in two months' time.

The Dorset man was picked alongside 42 other GB athletes for the championships, which take place seven weeks after the World Championships for able-bodied athletes in Doha on Friday, September 27.
