MARK Molesley was delighted with a job well done after his side overcame a potential banana skin at Sholing in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The Terras progressed to the next round after winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Andy Robinson, Ben Thomson and Brett Williams at the Mackoy Stadium.

Molesley told the terras.co.uk: “It was a difficult game, we didn’t underestimate them because they’re a good side, and we were really professional.

“It was key to get off to a good start and dampen their enthusiasm quickly and luckily our goals game at a good time.

“In the first half we managed the game really well and made a lot of chances but they were a real threat.

“Second they showed they are a good side and were quite direct and we had to defend well, but on the whole we were well worth the win.”

Midfielder Josh Wakefield took a knock during the game but Molesley re-assured Terras’ fans that it was not serious.

He said: “He’s okay, I though he was outstanding in the first half and in the heart of the action and kept things ticking over for us.

“We just freshened it up in the middle.

“He’s always done well for us this season.”

Asked who he fancied in the next round the Terras’ boss added: “We would just like to get a home tie and go as far as we can in this competition.”

The Terras next face Concord Rangers at home on Saturday (3pm).
