DORCHESTER Town's director of football Shaun Brooks was sent from the dugout for remonstrating with the officials after a controversial goal saw his side lose 1-0 at Braintree Town.

Substitute Charlie Henry was also dismissed for his protests following Louis Riddle's 74th minute winner, a goal which means the Magpies have picked up just one Blue Square South point from a possible 18.

Speaking after the match Brooks said: "The guy who scored for Braintree was at least three or four yards offside, I couldn't believe the decision wasn't given.

"It was an incredible decision and for remonstrating with the linesman I got myself sent to the stands while Charlie was dismissed just as we were about to bring him on.

"The guy was in no-man's-land but the linesman kept his flag down. We won't know the full outcome in terms of suspensions until the referee files his report.

"We can't change what has happened but it cost us the game."

The Magpies have not won a league match since September 15, and Brooks was left frustrated after a solid performance by his charges.

He added: "It's a disappointing afternoon because we didn't have too many problems. We worked hard and limited them to very few chances, I can't remember Darren Behcet having a genuine save to make."

Brooks sacrificed flair for grit and determination, dropping Jon Docker and Henry to the bench, while recalling James Rowe after injury and Mark Robinson.

* The Magpies have arranged a friendly with Torquay United tomorrow (1pm) at the Avenue Stadium.

Brooks hopes that Dani Rodrigues, recently released by Eastleigh, will accept his offer of a trial and feature in the Dorchester line-up.

Brooks said: "I will be in contact with Dani and he will be invited to play in the game. I know him from his time at Southampton and he is the calibre of player we need, he will also be a great help in terms of guidance for the younger players of our squad."
