BALTI Sports’ manager Marco Nott is keen to spin draws into wins ahead of a Dorset Premier League derby encounter with Portland United Reserves at the Weyline Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Unbeaten Balti have gone nine games without defeat, albeit with four draws hampering their progress up a league table in which they occupy fifth.

Nott’s men sit alongside leaders Hamworthy Recreation – their Dorset Senior Trophy second round opponents – as the only undefeated outfit in the division.

Going into the Portland clash, Nott is also relishing the chance to unleash his players on the Weyline Stadium pitch.

He said: “Hopefully playing them on a Saturday and their first team playing in the FA Vase we’ve got a chance of going there and getting three points.

“We always play well on that pitch. Last year we played up there and drew in the league and knocked them out of the cup, but we played some really good football. Hopefully we go up there with a bit of confidence. We beat Dorch Sports last week and going into another derby straight after that we should go in with quite a lot of confidence.

“Our only issue is there’s so many draws. A couple of them are good results, but we’ve got to try and turn some into wins if we can.”

Che Curran (suspension) and Carl McClements (unavailable) miss out, but Stef Stavrianos could return.
