WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley admits the upcoming FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie with Dover Athletic will be a “good measure” of the Terras’ progress.

Molesley has led Weymouth to promotion as champions from the Southern Premier South and the Terras are currently fourth in the National League South ahead of their trip to Dulwich Hamlet today (3pm).

Cup form has matched Weymouth’s sizzling league exploits with 3-0 and 4-1 wins over Sholing and St Albans putting them within one win of the first round proper.

Speaking to Echosport, Molesley believes the draw has “all the makings of a great game” against the Whites next Saturday.

He said: “Dover have been riding high in the National League this year, very good on their travels. It has all the makings of a great game for us. These are the challenges we want.

"They’re in the league above, have a very experienced manager (Andy Hessenthaler), with some good players. We want to be seeing how far we’ve come and get a good measure of where we are at the moment.”

Molesley is also boosted with home advantage, adding: “We definitely wanted a home tie.

“We’d much rather play them at home than we would away. It’s going to be an exciting game and a great challenge, but we’ve got a big league game before then which our full focus is on.

"Once that’s out of the way we’ll obviously give Dover the respect they deserve and prepare for that game.”

Weymouth’s trip to Eastbourne Borough in the league has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 29 (7.45pm).
