DORCHESTER Town midfielder Tom Purrington is thriving on the “variety” of playing for a non-League club while on the books at Plymouth Argyle.

Purrington, 18, is on loan at the Magpies until January but was injured just 20 minutes into his debut during the 3-2 loss against Hartley Wintney.

Speaking to Echosport, the midfielder conceded the setback was “frustrating”.

He said: “It was a bit annoying – within the first 20 minutes I got injured and saw it through to half-time. Since then I’ve been out for a month, so not the best start, a bit frustrating. Obviously I’m now getting back into it.

“Hopefully I’ll come on a few times, get some starts and we’ll go from there. I enjoy it here. Ever since the first day I came here I’ve felt welcome and they’re all great lads – I’ve loved it.

“It’s always going to be different to playing for Argyle, and obviously a difference in leagues, but I’ve felt good since I came here.

“I still train with Argyle as well, so there’s a good variety with Dorchester and Plymouth.”
