DORCHESTER will look to go one step further and beat Salisbury tonight in the Buildbase FA Trophy First Round Qualifying replay (7:45pm) after being pegged back to a 3-3 draw in the dying minutes on Saturday.

Magpies boss Callum Brooks insisted his team were still underdogs despite leading three times at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

Brooks told Echosport: “Salisbury are strong favourites so it’s a relatively pressure free game for us.

“We have to be at the best of our abilities. You can play well and not be guaranteed to win against a team like Salisbury.

“It’s been a long time since Dorchester picked up a result against Salisbury, we have to keep doing our thing and hopefully we’ll go through.

“It’s set up to be an exciting game of football and the main objective is to go through but saying that we are underdogs.”

Dorchester led three times on Saturday and Tom Blaire thought he’d put The Magpies into the next round after scoring to put Dorchester 3-2 up in the 88th minute. However, Salisbury equalised in stoppage time to take the game to a replay.

Speaking about what needs to be changed from Saturday, Brooks said: “I don’t think it’s as clear cut as that. I don’t think much will be different.

“There will be two teams who want to play well. Saturday was tremendous and I expect the same tomorrow.

“It’s a break from the league, a distraction and a one-off match. I expect that to be evident.

The Dorchester manager also maintained that failing to go through will not be disastrous for the club.

“It won’t make or break the club,” Brooks said. “we have a plan at the football club which is to improve on a continuous basis. I’m working hard behind the scenes to bring in reinforcements

“Nobody wants us to go through tomorrow more than me, but if it doesn’t happen, we will just prepare for Saturday which is another important league game.

Brooks added that Dan Strugnell is a doubt for tomorrow but they are hoping he will be able to play.

The winners of tonight will face Kings Langley at home in the Buildbase FA Trophy Second Qualifying round on Saturday November 9.
