DORCHESTER Town have strengthened their relationship with Shaftesbury Town after River Smith became the third Magpies’ player to sign dual registration forms with the Rockies.
Smith joins Oli Lowes and Luke Winsper as Dorchester players to have linked up with the Magpies this season.
However, the striker was deprived of a debut for the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division side after their match at Fareham Town fell victim to heavy rain.
Lowes, who has enjoyed a goal-laden spell at 11th-tier Dorchester Sports this season, hit the post for Shaftesbury in their 3-0 victory at Amesbury in late October.
While Lowes has struggled to earn call-ups to the full Magpies’ squad, Smith has been a regular on the bench and has so far netted twice this season – the latest coming in a 2-1 win over Sherborne Town in the Dorset Senior Cup last week.
Dorchester also possess forwards Tom Bath and Eder Batista.
