(Frome win 4-2 on pens)

DORCHESTER Town exited the Southern League Challenge Cup second round 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Frome Town at Badgers Hill.

Boss Callum Brooks made six changes, handing a debut to Connal Morrison, but it was Frome who drew first blood as Joe O’Laughlin scored for the hosts following Jack Torniainen’s slip.

Dorchester pressed for a leveller in the second half, making three substitutions, and were eventually rewarded when Devon Arnold and Klaidi Lolos combined to win a penalty, allowing the latter to slot past Rob Brown in the 89th minute.

The Greek’s second goal in two games forced a shoot-out but Frome went 2-1 up, with Arnold netting for the Magpies.

Tom Purrington then saw Brown keep out his strike and the teams then traded penalties, Franklyn Clarke scoring for 3-2.

Frome’s Simpson bagged his spot-kick but Callum Rose was denied as the Magpies exited their third cup of the season.
