DORCHESTER TOWN 4

Martin 6, Bath 47, 89, Morris 54

DORCHESTER Town suffered a cruel 4-4 draw as Gosport snatched a point with a 95th-minute equaliser, both sides finishing with 10 men in their BetVictor Southern Premier South thriller.

Tom Bath looked to have given the Magpies all three points with an 89th minute goal, only for Boro’s Ryan Woodford to break Dorchester hearts as their poor run extended to one victory from 14 league games.

Dorchester temporary manager Jody Rivers made just one change to the team that began Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Met Police, with Ben Morris coming in for Greek loanee Plymouth striker Klaidi Lolos.

On the subs’ bench, there were two switches as Connal Morrison and Alfie Toland replaced midfielder Charlie Davis, who was announced as a Gosport player four hours before kick-off, and Yeovil loanee Devon Arnold.

Both Lolos and Arnold were absent from the matchday squad.

In swirling wind and rain, Dorchester made a superb start as Neil Martin slammed a shot in off the post in the sixth minute for his third goal of the season.

Boro mounted a stirring fightback after George Barker saw red for an alleged kick at Martin as Matt Paterson and Liam Robinson netted in the space of five minutes.

Magpies’ goalkeeper Nick Hutchings made an important stop from Robinson before half-time and was rewarded after the break as Bath slid home skipper Franklyn Clarke’s ball before Morris rifled home.

Hutchings, who had already been booked, then conceded a penalty and earned a second yellow, allowing Paterson to score past sub stopper Shane Murphy for 3-3.

And, in a mad finish, Bath pounced on a howler from Boro gloveman Ben Dudzinski before Woodford dramatically grabbed a share of the points.
