BRIDPORT boss Jamie Manley hopes Tony Pinder’s maiden goal for the Bees will “boost” the striker after Saturday’s 3-1 loss to high-flying Plymouth Parkway.
Pinder’s persistence paid off as he netted for the first time in eight games, firing the equaliser prior to two quick Parkway goals.
And boss Manley was delighted for the former Axminster forward, who has worked tirelessly up top since his arrival at St Mary’s Field.
He said: “It was a good goal, Lloyd Beals has put the ball down the right channel and Tony has put the full-back under pressure, nicked it off him, cut inside and shot past the keeper.
“It’s good for him and hopefully that might give him a boost and he’ll go on to score more goals. That was a good plus to come out of it.”
He added: “Overall, everyone put a good shift in and showed that they wanted to be there and really work hard for each other.
“We’ve got a good team spirit at the moment, so as much as we’ve lost, we can take a lot of positives out of the result.”
Bridport, who remain in 18th after the defeat, host sixth-placed Exmouth Town on Saturday (3pm).
