PORTLAND and Weymouth legends helped raise over £760 for the Three Ells Trust in the Blues’ annual Boxing Day charity match at the Weyline Stadium.
Nick Preston’s Old Boys lost 5-4 to Mark Carter’s All Stars in a thrilling contest played out in difficult conditions.
Daniel Nash Jr, Ben Skelton, Andy Rosewell, George Carter and Lewis Whyton all netted for the winners, while current Blues’ midfielder Ryan McKechnie bagged a brace for the defeated Old Boys, adding to Luke Rodgers and Ian Hutchinson strikes.
Former Terras’ boss Hutchinson was one of a plethora of stars at the event, with ex-Portland captain Darren Whyton plus Andy Turrell, Pete Turrell, Paul Myers, Alan Rodgers, Mick Greeno and Willie Gibson – all of whom have represented Portland and Weymouth.
Carter’s All Stars boasted former Portland manager Simon Browne, ex-Blues’ skippers Lloyd Cranny and Andrew Perkins, plus James Turrell and Nigel Evans.
