DORCHESTER Town set up a potential Dorset Senior Cup final with Weymouth after sinking Wimborne 4-1 at a soggy Clayson Stadium.

Dorchester boss Leigh Robinson made four changes to the side that began the Magpies’ 3-1 loss at Beaconsfield on Saturday.

Nick Hutchings, Neil Martin, Tom Blair and Jack Torniainen replaced Shane Murphy, Kyle Egan, Jason Brookes and Ben Morris.

Dorchester began on the front foot, with Blair a menace on the left in windy and drizzly conditions.

However it was the good work of Luke Winsper, blocking Connor Doe’s attempted clearance, that set Blair up for the opening strike.

Winsper collected the charge down and played Blair in, the winger surging forward and skidding a shot underneath Wimborne keeper Lewis Gunstone-Gray.

Wimborne tested Hutchings through a Fatah Makhloufi shot, while ex-Dorchester winger Antonio Diaz had a goal ruled out for offside.

Dorchester dominated possession and doubled their lead when Gunstone-Gray punched an inswinging Tiago Sa corner into his own net in the 43rd minute.

Blair added his second in the 50th minute, bursting forward and finishing from 15 yards after Diaz was dispossessed in his own half.

Oli and Billy Lowes both wasted excellent chances before Aiden Shepherd pulled a goal back with 15 minutes left – Torniainen then planting a firm finish home less than 60 seconds later as Dorchester confirmed their superiority.

Magpies: Hutchings, Torniainen, Sa, Martin, Clarke, Rowthorn, Winsper, B Lowes, Bath, O Lowes (Brookes 58), Blair (Toland 72). Subs not used: Murphy, Batista, Symes.
