WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley believes Dulwich Hamlet are in a “purple patch” ahead of their Vanarama National League South encounter at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Hamlet thrashed Braintree 6-0 in their last outing, backing up a 3-0 victory at Hampton & Richmond on New Year’s Day to move into 15th.

And the south London side’s nine unanswered goals have not gone unnoticed by Molesley, who admits Dulwich caught his eye during the 2-2 draw with Weymouth in October.

“We’re hitting them in their purple patch, that’s for sure,” Molesley told Echosport.

“I was very impressed with them down at their place when we drew.

“I thought it was a good game and a really good advert for our league with two teams attacking each other and playing some good football.

“They’re another good side. They follow a similar model to Havant where they’re close to being full-time.

“We’ll be hitting them at a tough time, but you’ve got to be at your best every week in this league.”

Molesley’s men beat Welling 3-1 last Saturday and the Terras’ boss now has designs on putting a solid run of results together.

He said: “We got to, we’ve worked hard to get ourselves into a good position – a position people weren’t expecting us to be in.

“It gets tougher the longer you’re up there, so we’re looking to string results together.

“Performance levels are good and have only been below par in the St Albans game.

“We were very unlucky against Havant and aside from the first 10 minutes at Barnet that was a very good performance.”

Molesley also gave a full update on the Terras’ injury headache, with Andy Robinson (ankle), Cameron Murray (shin and ankle), Calvin Brooks (ankle), Calum Ward (quad), Jack Hoey (arm) and Shaun Hobson (back) nursing knocks.

Josh Wakefield (ankle) and Josh McQuoid (tightness) have minor niggles.

Molesley said: “We’re still waiting on Andy to see a specialist, Cam is on a process of trial and error, Jack is in non-contact training and we’ll get a verdict from his specialist at the end of January.

“Calvin is yet to train, but we’re hoping that’s fairly imminent. Calum is similar, he’ll be checked at the end of the week to see what his progress is.

“Josh McQuoid was precautionary, more tightness and a bit of cramp than an injury. Shaun has a bit of a back spasm which we’re hoping will clear up in time.

“(Wakefield) took a couple of knocks but he joined in training (on Tuesday) so we don’t see any problems for him.”

Elsewhere, Weymouth visit Verwood Town on Tuesday (7.45pm) after their Dorset Senior Cup semi-final was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
