BRIDPORT assistant-manager Kevin Leigh admits the Bees are beginning a “pivotal” run of fixtures, ahead of a trip to Toolstation Western League Premier Division relegation rivals Odd Down tonight (7.45pm).

Bottom side Odd Down have collected just 10 points but Bridport – two places above the Down in 19th – have only accrued 13 points.

Odd Down make the return trip to Bridport on Saturday (3pm), before hosting 20th-placed Wellington next Tuesday (7.45pm).

All three contests look set to have a significant bearing on the drop zone – and Bridport’s survival hopes.

“Those three games are very pivotal in how we do,” Leigh said. “If we get nine points we’d jump over Chipping Sodbury.

“We’ve just got to make sure that we beat the teams around us so that we’re not at the bottom.

“We need to go as far as we can go. There’s still a number of games to play, but it’s all about winning.

“It’s up to us. We’ve got to turn up, score a few goals and win games – it sounds easy!”

Bridport are expected to name the same squad that travelled to Keynsham for Saturday’s 4-2 loss.
