PORTLAND United boss Brendon King labelled Lymington Town’s attack as “dangerous” heading into their Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division clash tonight (7.45pm).

King’s Blues travel to face a Linnets side fresh from beating much-fancied Portchester 2-0 away on Saturday, leapfrogging the Royals into fifth.

Portland themselves are boosted by a win on Saturday having defeated Tadley Calleva 2-0 at home to move into ninth place, seven points behind Town.

But King is mindful of Lymington’s quality going forward, the Hampshire side scoring 57 goals in 22 games this season.

He told Echosport: “One thing you know what you’re going to get when you go away at Lymington is they’re really good going forward.

“They’ve got great players, they are so dangerous you’ve really got to be on it.

“First and foremost we’ll have to be really disciplined in the way we set ourselves up.

“But if we can get back-to-back wins that would be tremendous, we know it’s going to be tough. We’ll go up there and give it our best shot.”

Max Buckler, Crit Clarke, Alex Halloran and Ryan McKechnie are in contention, but King gave a strong hint he may stick with Saturday’s match-winners.

He said: “We should have players back but whether they’ll be included or not, I don’t know.

“I’m not going to change things too much with the lads that’ve put a shift in (on Saturday) and travelled last week.

“I think it’s only right they get given another go at it. We’ll have to see what we have. As long as there’s no injuries or knocks, I wouldn’t have thought it would be too much different.”

Portland captain Sean Stewart is likely to miss out with a back injury.
