DORCHESTER’S first team will be looking to record another strong win in the build-up to next weekend’s Southern Counties Vase final.

After last Saturday’s 14-try demolition of Lytchett Minster, the Highwood-sponsored outfit face Wimborne Seconds tomorrow at Surcouf Park (2.30pm) in their latest Wadworth Dorset & Wilts One South fixture.

Wimborne sit eighth in the league and back in October, Dorchester racked up 31 points without reply.

Inconsistency has dogged the opposition this season but the Minstermen have won two of their last three games, and rest assured they will be keen to take the points home and become the first team to beat Dorchester this season.

Coach Martin Oxland has named a strong settled team again with record try scorer James Baker back to form and Andy Dowell returning at number eight.

Jamie Morgan reclaims his place at centre and another product of Dorchester’s hugely successful youth setup and Colts team, Freddie Marsden, gets his opportunity at senior rugby from the bench.

Elsewhere, the Green & Whites’ A XV head to East Dorset in Wadworth Dorset & Wilts Two South action.

With the opposition sitting at the foot of the league and Dorchester earning a 47-0 win when they last met at Surcouf Park, Matt Fry will be confident after last week’s showing that the team can return with a victory.

The club’s junior section heads into action on Sunday with the under-sevens to under-13s all welcoming near rivals Bridport in the morning.

With weather warnings currently in force for this weekend, all players and supporters are encouraged to keep an eye on the club’s Facebook page for any cancellation announcements.
