BALTI Sports are facing a “goalkeeping crisis” for their Dorset Premier League trip to Swanage Town & Herston tomorrow (3pm) – if the game goes ahead.

Echosport understands the Swans notified Balti as early as Monday, expressing their concern over the fixture’s viability, with near incessant rain casting further cloud on the match.

Balti are without manager Marco Nott through unavailability, while brother and regular first choice Andy Nott (ankle) is still struggling.

If Sports promoted a reserve team keeper, they would be ineligible for their Dorset intermediate Cup semi-final against Hamworthy Recreation Reserves next Saturday.

Boss Nott told Echosport: “They notoriously struggle in one corner at Swanage, so I’m not entirely hopeful for the game.

“We’ve actually got a bit of a goalkeeping crisis. My brother trained Tuesday but he’s still not right.

“If he’s played, he certainly won’t be fit. It might be a case of him having to go up there and putting the gloves on. He’s not really ready.

“Our goalkeeping coach who normally plays isn’t available and our reserve goalkeeper, if we play him, will be cup-tied for their semi-final next week.

“Obviously we’re keen for that not to happen, so I’m scratching my head on what to do.”

Phil Anderson is unavailable, while Sammy Nichols and Charlie Kenderdine serve one-game bans. Chris Hicks oversees Balti in Nott’s absence.
