PORTLAND United manager Brendon King is eager to get the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup quarter-final clash with Totton & Eling “out of the way” tonight (7.45pm).

King’s men have twice been postponed by a waterlogged pitch at Miller Park, forcing league authorities to switch the tie to Portland.

And the forecast is finally set fair to enable the winners to claim a semi-final spot.

King told Echosport: “They’ve obviously changed it to our ground and we’ll have no problems playing it on our own pitch.

“Hopefully the wind keeps away and isn’t too much of a problem. We just need to play it and get it out of the way.

“We’ll be doing what we first set out to do – go out and win. We want to progress and go as far as we can, so we’ll be looking to get on the front foot from the start.”

James Cox (foot) is a doubt but Luke King (knee) is available. Sean Stewart, Harry Hutchinson, Sol and Manny Roche plus Mo Hereka are all in contention.
