DORCHESTER Town Football Club are pleased to announce their first new signing for the upcoming season.

Commanding central defender Sam Poole has joined The Magpies from Wimborne Town, after previously featuring for Blackfield & Langley where he captained them to back-to-back promotions to the Southern Premier League.

Speaking on his first new arrival of the summer, boss Leigh Robinson said: “Sam’s a really good addition for the coming season and we’re pleased to have him on board. He’s a proven centre back in this division, and brings in plenty of leadership and organisational skills.

“I’m sure his desire to want to defend and enjoy defending will have a positive influence on those around him and that’s a key reason why we were keen to get him in.”

On agreeing to join Dorchester Town, Poole said: “As a new season starts, and hopefully that’s soon, it’s one I’m looking forward to with optimism. I feel I can come to Dorchester and make a difference, push them up the table and enjoy some success.”

“It’s clear the club is in good hands and ready to start to push on again, which was a big attraction for me. Hopefully we can give the fans something to cheer about this season.”
