WEYMOUTH have appointed Bradley Asagba as interim manager after previous boss Mark Molesley joined Southend.

Paul Maitland also returns as interim director of football and will oversee the search for a new manager.

Captain Josh McQuoid has also extended his deal at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Echosport understands the Terras could appoint a new boss within the next few weeks.

Echosport can reveal coaches Nick Bennett and Jamie Wells, goalkeeping coach Robbie Yates, head analyst Danny Webb, scout Andy Merritt and physio Lloyd Beals will all remain at the Terras.

The Terras return to training on Tuesday ahead of the new National League season, scheduled for Saturday, October 3.

In a statement on their official website, Weymouth said: "We are pleased that Paul Maitland has agreed to step in as interim director of football and Bradley Asagba as interim manager.

"This will provide the club with stability and continuity whilst our search for a permanent manager is concluded.

"The directors have a very clear vision of what we require from our new manager and detailed work has already begun to identify that person.

"Assisting Paul and Brad will be the remaining management staff plus Terras' captain Josh McQuoid who we are pleased to confirm has extended his stay with us.

"The players will be returning for pre-season next week as scheduled and further announcements on those staying with the club will be made in the coming days."
