WHILE Dorchester created plenty of positives in their 3-1 loss to Weymouth, boss Leigh Robinson admitted a “sloppy” five minutes cost his Magpies’ squad.

Tom Blair cancelled out Jordan Ngalo’s early opener, but two rapid second-half goals for Josh McQuoid and Jake McCarthy gave the Terras a cushion in victory.

Speaking to Echosport, Robinson saw plus points in Dorchester’s penultimate pre-season clash.

He said: “It was a really good game, there’s certainly some real positives for us.

“One thing we spoke about to the players is intensity. In terms of the effort, endeavour and ability to cover the ground I saw some positive signs.

“There are a few things to tweak and they did come off the pitch quite frustrated because we went toe-to-toe for quite some time.

“It was a sloppy five minutes that cost us in terms of the scoreline. We have to remember we’re a new team and it is still coming together.

“There’s signs that when this team does gel and becomes more cohesive, there’s certainly something really good there.”
