AFTER a summer of exciting tennis the Jurassic Tennis Ladder came to thrilling end, with Matt Barret winning the final.

On finals day, the first semi saw Barrett go up against John Samuelson, who broke Barrett in the first game.

Barrett started to grow into the match and ended up with a composed 6-1 6-1 victory to secure his final place.

Steve White, champion in 2018 and 2019 played a patient game to beat Clive Stow 6-1 6-3 and face Barrett in the final.

Nervy Barrett struggled against White consistency in the final, losing the first set 6-2.

Barrett composed himself and started to attack in the second, taking it 6-4.

The deciding set saw Barrett maintain his momentum to seal it 6-4 and take the title.

This years ladder has seen over 20 play competitive tennis, many for the first time.

One new member said: “It has been a great opportunity to play some competitive tennis, in a friendly environment. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to play again next year."
