WEYMOUTH manager Brian Stock claims the Terras “can’t dwell” on their 1-0 defeat to Woking.

Stock’s troops resume their Vanarama National League campaign at home to early leaders Sutton United tomorrow (3pm).

Weymouth have unusually failed to score in over 180 minutes this season, following a goalless draw at Altrincham.

Stock challenged his players to avoid another negative result as the Claret and Blues seek to open their winning account.

“We can’t dwell on things,” he said. “We are going to lose games this year, it’s how we bounce back.

“What we can’t afford to do is follow up with another disappointing result or feel sorry for ourselves.

“We have to dust ourselves down, remain confident. We have to utilise the squad.

“One or two players were carrying a couple of knocks with a bit of travelling in their legs.

“They’re going to be tired. They’re not used to the demands, travelling, the intensity, especially going Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday.

“We’ve got seven games this month so we need to utilise every member and I felt the lads that came in (against Woking) did do well and tried hard – I can’t ask any more.”

On Sutton, Stock revealed Covid-19 regulations had prevented him from having the Amber and Chocolates scouted, but would instead review video footage.

“We’ll be doing lots of research, Zoom calls, everything we can to give our lads the best possible preparation for Sutton,” Stock added.

Centre-backs Corey Jordan (sickness) and Myles Anderson (ankle) are in contention to return.

Stock said: “(Jordan) phoned me and said he was being sick – obviously you can’t take any chances for 48 hours.

“(Anderson) could be in contention to play. Ade (Olumuyiwa) is not far behind him either – he’ll be looking to come back the following week.

“Fingers crossed, this time next week we should have a fully fit squad.”
