DORCHESTER Town boss Leigh Robinson labelled the Magpies’ 1-0 triumph over Pitching In Southern Premier South leaders Tiverton as a “fantastic win”.

Emile Ngoy’s fine 86th-minute strike proved the winner as the Dorchester manager recorded his second league victory in 13 attempts.

Post-match, he told dtfc.co.uk: “It was a fantastic win against a really good side who I’ve no doubt will be up there come the end of the season.

“We started incredibly nervously and you could see the difference in confidence between the sides but as the game went on we grew into it and probably had the better of the chances.

“We had great impact off the bench with Emile and Leighton who made a huge difference late on.

“Two clean sheets in a row is a huge improvement on the first week of the season and we’ve shown that if we can stay in games we have players who can hurt the opposition. Hopefully a good platform to build on.”

Prior to the game, the Magpies unveiled the signing of former Frome and Yate forward Laurent Davis-Wilson, who also had spells in Sweden with FK Tonsberg and Torsby IF.

The striker had been on trial with Dorchester during pre-season, featuring against Winchester City and Helston.

Robinson said: “He’s back from a spell playing in Sweden and did his hamstring in the Helston friendly so unfortunately he’s had a few weeks out.

“We didn’t want to rush him back after that as he’s quite an explosive player so the break has been ideal for him.”
