WEYMOUTH manager Brian Stock called for the Terras to be savvier with game management after a 1-0 defeat at Barnet in the Vanarama National League.

Stock’s men dominated the first half but were suckered in the 45th minute by a brilliant 25-yard strike from Wes Fonguck.

For all the chances Weymouth created, none were taken and the Terras have now gone over 450 minutes without scoring in competitive fixtures.

Speaking post-match to uptheterras.co.uk, Stock felt Fonguck’s winner should have been “stopped at source”.

“It changed my team-talk in a matter of a minute,” he said.

“I’m trying to shout out onto the pitch to have that little bit of understanding, that little bit of professionalism to try and not be naïve to the situation, look at the time, become more compact.

“It was a great finish from (Fonguck) but I felt it was something we could’ve stopped at source and it’s something we need to get better at doing.”

Despite a lack of attention to the situation second before half-time, Stock praised his players for their commitment.

He said: “You try and set up and team, tactics, formations whatever it might be and the lads give everything they’ve got.

“Again, we’ve just come up short. I can’t fault the lads’ efforts. Shamir (Mullings) has come on and made a difference, Shieldsy (Sean Shields) has come on and made a difference.”

Weymouth tackle old foes King’s Lynn Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
