BRIDPORT are expected to complete the signing of defender Cody Bowditch ahead of the Bees’ trip to Clevedon Town on Saturday (3pm).

Bowditch, who can also play on the wing, will join on dual registration terms from neighbours Lyme Regis.

Initially, Bowditch was to remain at the Seasiders for most of the season, helping Bridport out for selected home and midweek matches.

However, it is understood Bowditch is likely to play at Bridport for the remainder of the season.

Commenting on his latest new recruit, Bridport boss Jamie Manley was pleased to bolster his squad.

He said: “We’re always looking and we put seven days in for Cody at Lyme Regis, it’s a dual registration with Lyme.

“We’re looking to get him on board so that’s one we’ve looked at.

“We’ve looked into the reserves more, like the local lads. Riley Weedon and Callum Middleton came in against Shepton Mallet and did really well.

“They’ll be with us this weekend because they deserve to be. If we can get lads in from the reserves and they step up, then all well and good.

“We’re always on the lookout for decent players and if any come along we’ll be looking to bring them in.”

On Clevedon, Manley added: “We’ve just got to take the positives from the Shepton game and hopefully we’ll give a good account of ourselves. Going away is always difficult.”

Andy Holmes returns from suspension and Liam Sayers is in contention after training in midweek.

Luke King (knee) is doubtful but Nathan Warren (knee) remains out.

Elsewhere, Bridport Reserves host Shaftesbury Reserves (3pm).
