BRIDPORT boss Jamie Manley expects more postponements as clubs navigate their way through the coronavirus pandemic.

Having already seen two home games delayed due to Covid-19 scares at other teams, Bridport have played just eight Toolstation Western League Premier Division games this season.

Over a third of teams are based in the Bristol area which, at the time of writing, has 63.5 infections of Covid-19 per 100,000 more than the national average of 201.1 per 100,000.

Manley therefore fears further disruption to the schedule.

He told Echosport: “It’s difficult, we’ve missed out on two Saturdays where we would’ve had more people through the gates.

“That’s frustrating and, if I’m brutally honest, it isn’t going to be the last games we miss out on.

“If you look at what’s happening, there will be more games called off.

“Especially the sides in Bristol, you never know, they could be called off at the drop of a hat.

“We just have to make sure we’re prepared and ready to go. That’s just my take on it.”
